Our favourite footballer Dimitri Petratos has become a viral sensation after he scored a spectacular goal for Brisbane Roar in the A-League last weekend.

With his side trailing Melbourne Victory, the 24-year-old hit an unbelievable long range free-kick to peg a goal back at AAMI Park on Saturday night.

The dead-ball specialist put his laces through the ball, causing it to swerve wickedly into the top corner of the net, giving the goalkeeper no chance of making the save.

Unfortunately the Roar went on to lose 3-2 but the match will be remembered for Dimi’s goal which is being hailed as one of the best ever in the history of the A-League.

The strike featured on news sites across the country and overseas, with his technique drawing comparisons to modern day greats Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dimi is currently in his fourth season at Brisbane Roar, where he’s scored 15 goals and has also previously played for Sydney FC.

Of course Dimi use to hone his skills on our Golden Goal fields and the Petratos family are still heavily involved in the running of our social bookings.

Needless to say Mum and Dad were both extremely proud of the special moment and we were playing it on repeat in the clubhouse!
