Thanasi Kokkinakis’ star continues to rise with the Young Aussie breaking into the world’s top 100 players for the first time this week.

The 19-year-old rose five places in the ATP rankings to a career high 98 despite being knocked out in the first round of the Madrid Masters.

The jump is a big boost to Kokkinakis’ chances of automatic qualification for the French Open later this month if he can maintain his current status.

The teenager was set to travel to Rome to continue his clay court season but will instead play in qualifying for a Challenger event in Bordeaux after a fire in the capital delayed his flight.

There was also good news for Nick Kyrgios in the latest ranking results, with his recent win over Roger Federer at the Madrid Masters helping to ensure he is seeded for Roland Garros.

Once confirmed, it will be the first time the 20-year-old has been seeded at a slam after he also recently reached a career-high ranking, rising to No.29 in the world.

Kyrgios downed the Swiss champion in a thrilling third set tie-break earlier this month, which he described as the best win of his career.

It  followed his first finals appearance on the men’s ATP Tour, having reached the decider of the Estoril Open in Portugal.

The triumph over the 17-time grand slam winner saw Kyrgios become the youngest player in more than a decade to have conquered both Nadal and Federer – and the first to do so while both players were in the top 10.

Kyrgios will join Bernard Tomic and 2010 runner-up Samantha Stosur as the only Aussie seeds at the tournament when play gets under way from 24th May.

The Aussie contingent will also include Sam Groth and James Duckworht in the men’s draw and Casey Dellacqua, Jarmila Gajdosova, Ajla Tomljanovic and Daria Gavrilova in the women’s draw.
