This weekend at SSC:

Roll-up roll-up and gather round! It’s looking like it might be a good weekend to stay indoors, so here’s our weekly insight into what we’ll be playing on our screens at Strathfield Sports Club.

Friday night we’ll kick things off with some Super rugby as the Waratahs take on the Rebels and the Reds host the Hurricanes. NSW will be trying to bounce back from the disappointment of last weekend’s loss to Queensland, as they take on their new foes south of the boarder. Both sides boast star-studded backlines so hopefully we’ll see some running rugby despite the dour conditions.

Saturday night will feature a triple header in the A-League, with all teams desperate for points as they jostle for positions leading into the finals. Adelaide takes on Brisbane in the afternoon match-up, with both sides showing the quality they can produce in recent weeks.

This will be followed by the mouth-watering top of the table clash between the Mariners and Wanderers. It will be the Central Coast’s third match in a week, while Western Sydney goes into the game having recorded seven straight wins since CCM got the better of them last time these teams played. Of course none of this will matter come kick-off as top spot goes on the line.

Perth host Sydney FC in the late start, with both sides hoping to atone for last start loses and force their way into the top-six. The stakes will also be high in another edition of Purebred Poker, which will be going down at the same time so why not join us for some football and cards?

Sunday we’ll round out the weekend with loads more football as the Jets take on the Heart. We’ll also have replays of all the overnight European action, with the biggest EPL match-ups and of course the El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona for the second time this week!

The second Test between Australia and India will also be played throughout the weekend, with the Aussies hoping to square the series after being soundly beaten in the series opener. Team selection will be critical for the match in Hyderabad, so give us your spin on who you think should play?

There might not be a lot of social sport being played this weekend with the dreary weather but rest assured we’ll have all the televised action as the pro’s show us how it’s done. So as they say; “Let it rain!” See you at the Club!
